ESTABLISHMENT
The Hong Kong Beverage Association Limited was incorporated in 2002. The Association was formerly known as The Beverages Manufacturers Association of Hong Kong (BMA) and was established in 1963.
BACKGROUND
The Hong Kong Beverage Association Limited is an industry organization of a non-profit making nature covering
all major manufacturers and/or distributors of beverages based in Hong Kong. These manufacturers and/or distributors cover both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The Association is a member of the International Council of Beverages Association (ICBA). ICBA is a non-governmental organization that represents the interests of the international beverage industry before the Codex Alimentarius Commission and other worldwide bodies and will provide a forum to share information among its members to such representations.
OBJECTIVES / ACTIVITIES
The objectives for which the Association is established are:
1) To act as the representative organization of the beverage manufacturing and/or distribution industries in HK and to negotiate matters of trade policy on behalf of such industries.
2) To promote the interests of its Members and to encourage co-operation and discussion on all matters of common interest to them.
3) To provide facilities for the circulation and dissemination of trade information to its Members.
4) To establish, promote or assist in establishing or promoting, and to subscribe to, or become a member of, or amalgamate, associate, connect with or relate to, any other association, company or organization whose objects are similar or in part similar to the objects of the Association, or establishment or promotion of which may be beneficial to the Association.
